Cloud 9

One of my favs in the local Boise area is Cloud 9 nanobrewery. I am a wine fanatic but love Cloud 9 for the food, the bar staff and the company. We usually sit at the bar because that’s the best place to meet and converse with new people.

Since Cloud 9 is a brewpub I have to mention the beer first. They have 6 year round beers on tap. Of those, the Blonde Ale is my favorite. Don’t judge! I know it’s the lightest and least hoppy beer. My tastes lean more toward wine but on those really hot days when only a beer will do, give me a light one. They have plenty of heavier, more hoppy (hoppier?) beers for you connoisseurs. And yes, they sell and fill growlers. Perfect for those barbecues, picnics, river floats, or just sitting on the couch.

If none of the 6 year-round beers strike you, they have 12 taps for rotating seasonal and special edition beers. I’ve heard the Chocolate Bar Porter is pretty tasty. With a 9% ABV (alcohol by volume), the Bourbon Oaked Stock Ale is sure to put a smile on your face. Cheers!

The food. EVERYTHING is good. The BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) is out of this world good but sadly it’s a seasonal addition to the menu. They offer great burgers, pub-style sandwiches, salads and more. Instead of trying to capture everything they offer, you can check out their current food menu here.

If you don’t already know it, Boise is a very dog friendly city so of course dogs are allowed on the large patio. Nice dogs that play well with others. Actually, playing well with others is a requirement for the patrons too.
